Katya Emelyanova’s creative output includes a number of monochrome abstractions combined with various signs, words, geometric shapes and photographic images. By juxtaposing abstract shapes and figurative images the artist looks to capture the fluidity, the ever-changing nature of human emotions.
Katya Emelyanova believes that external influences mold our personalities as they make us choose between opposite options – shall we grow up or keep on being little kids; shall we stay silent or speak up; shall we stick to our own identities or follow general trends; shall we live in fear or dare to take a step forward?
